Still life paintings portray the beauty of the objects surrounding us. The main theme of these paintings is time. An appreciation for the current moment and an effort to show something beautiful, enjoyable but temporary. Throughout the history of still life art, everything on the table turns into a symbolic object. The collection “In the Midst of the Banquet” invites viewers to watch a banquet that is about to be gone. Projector in this case becomes a tool to unsettle the table by adding the still life paintings and adds layers of political, historical and social issues in today’s world.
