I am a London-based German photographer, Iโ€™ve studied Fine Art at the Rijksakademie in Amsterdam and Sheffield Hallam University. Over the past 20 years, I have developed a distinctive style that bridges the worlds of fine art and documentary photography, capturing compelling stories through landscapes, cityscapes, and portraits.

I document, observe and build community by engaging with people around me, people who occupy the spaces I occupy or travel through. Stories have been important to me since I was a small boy burying my head inside books to dream of adventures and find out about foreign lands.

Notable projects include My Trip to Mars and Faces of Mustang, both shot during my travels across North America. Recent work includes an urban street photography collaboration for an architecture column, an ongoing documentary project of a seventh-generation family business of funeral directors and Pictures from the Commute, documenting every day London and its people.

I rarely leave the house without a camera and it shows in the images I make, while I have excluded people in this selection they form an equal part in my everyday practice.
