Concrete has an aesthetic of its own, especially when it is revealed & deconstructed as in these images. Moreover, concrete that has aged presents even more of a beguiling image.
It reveals depths of texture, substance and layers. Each of these hinting at the various uses it has performed, thereby revealing an intention and narrative that is rich in both depth & history and a fitting tribute to the past.
This is especially true when it has been partially deconstructed and been subjected to the elements. An interesting juxtaposition between what was intended as inside and outside spaces.
Aesthetically captivating and narratively powerful.
